Helen “Duke” Voynovich, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2107 in Memorial Hospital.Helen was born on November 16, 1930 in East Chicago, IN to Milosh and Danica (Kosanovich) Idukovich. Duke was employed by First Christian Church of South Bend. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, its Kolo, the O’Brien Fitness Center and her Euchre Club. On November 25, 1950 in South Bend she married Mike D. Voynovich. He died on May 17, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a brother Steve Idukovich. Surviving are 3 sons Steven Voynovich of South Bend, David (Joanne) Voynovich of Chicago and Daniel Voynovich of Merrillville, IN, 7 grandchildren Zora Voynovich, John Voynovich, Jelena Voynovich, Kaylee Voynovich, Alex Voynovich, Genanne (Bud) Herzog, and Christopher Voynovich and 3 great-grandchildren Jaidyn, Xavier and Evan. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 4-8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00pm. Visitation will also occur from 10:00am until services Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
