Mary L. (Berta) Kovatch-Bilotti, 78, passed away at Center for Hospice in Mishawaka, IN on Friday, February 18th, 2022, with her family by her side, following an extended illness. Mary was born on July 30, 1943, to the late Julius J. and Irene (Raab) Berta in Mishawaka, In. Mary was married to Michael L. Kovatch and together they had 5 children: daughters, Milinda (Tony) Mullins of LaGrange, IN, Melissa A. Kovatch of Mishawaka and sons: Michael (Stephanie) Kovatch of Carlsbad, CA, Mark R. Kovatch of South Bend and Matthew J. Kovatch of LaGrange along with five loving grandchildren: Corey, Nicholas, Jack, Bija and Kaylin Kovatch and 1 great-grandchild, Logan Kovatch. Mike passed away in 1995. On January 2, 2007, Mary married F. Richard Bilotti, he survives along with a stepdaughter, Carrie A. Bilotti of Niles, MI, 2 sisters, Patricia Clark, Nancy R. Berta both of South Bend, 4 brothers: Robert (Barbara) of FL, Paul Allan of South Bend, Joseph of North Carolina and Daniel Berta of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Mike, brother, James Berta and a brother in law, John Clark. Mary was a homemaker and loved doing things for and with her family and friends, gardening, all sports at Notre Dame, music by Diana Ross and Donna Summers, and being with her grandkids. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or National Parkinson Foundation, 1801 NW 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136. Visitation will be on Friday, March 4th from 11:00 A.M. until Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 226 North Hill Street, South Bend with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at Noon with Fr. Matt Face officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The HANLEY and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Kovatch and Bilotto families.
