[N10109] SOUTH BEND -- Alice Esther Glon, 84, of Ridgedale Road, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 13, 2005) at Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 15, 1921, in South Bend, to Ignatius and Anna (Dietz) Paczkowski. On May 25, 1946, she married Bert Glon. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1989. Surviving are one son, Dale (Carolyn) Glon of Elkhart; one brother, Eugene (Mary) Paczkowski of South Bend; and three grandchildren, Melissa Glon, Marci Glon and David Glon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Anna (Dietz) Paczkowski; husband, Bert Glon; one son, Terry Glon; three sisters, Marjorie Lenczowski, Eleanore Wolff and Marie Paczkowski; and one brother, Clem Paczkowski. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend. The family will meet at the church one hour before the mass. Mrs. Glon was a member of the Holy Family Church, Crumstown Conservation Club, St. Joseph Home Extension Club, Holy Family Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, Notre Dame Circle 572, Chippewa Fun Club, Senior Citizens and St. Joseph County Farm Bureau. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be given to Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund in care of the American Red Cross.
