SOUTH BEND - Marie (Jurek) Turnock, age 59, passed away on October 21, 2014, in Arkansas of cancer. Marie was born August 4, 1955, in South Bend, to John and Joan Jurek, who survive. July 5, 1965, she married Don Turnock, who survives with daughters, Jen Litzman (Chad), daughters, Chloe and Emma; Heather Mastrin (Devon), daughters, Kameron and Daphne, brothers, John Jr., Dan, Mike, David (Dawn), Steven (Eileen) Jurek, sister, Victoria Chidister, sisters-in-law, Sue Pare, Barb (Rich) Slabaugh, and brother-in-law, Dan (Bev) Turnock, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was predeceased by sister, Catherine Jurek. Born in South Bend, Marie graduated from Holy Cross grade school and St. Joseph High School, she moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, 10 years ago, along with her husband. Marie worked for Indiana Bell, Crown International, Cressy and Everett, and owned Megatype and Spider Woman's Graphics. Living in Arkansas, Marie was very active in the community planning many events including the Healing Path Expo. A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 920 Wilbur Street, South Bend, at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 8, 2014. Marie cared deeply for the physical and spiritual well being of all that is living; the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, that everyone carries this on by showing compassion, love & caring to all, this will be her legacy.
