NEW CARLISLE - Eva B. Lonzo , 97, died at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Hamilton Grove Nursing Home, New Carlisle, Ind., where she had been a resident. Eva was born on Sept. 7, 1900, in South Bend, Ind., and had been an area resident all of her life. Her parents were John and Mary (Conner) Luke. On May 19, 1917, Eva married Frank Lonzo , who preceded her in death in 1973.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Lonzo of Osceola, Ind., and Eugene Lonzo of South Bend; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and by a great-great-grandchild. She retired from the South Bend Toy Co., in 1963, where she had worked in assembly. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan St. Funeral services for Eva B. Lonzo will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Short of the River Park Church of Christ. Burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery. Published in the South Bend Tribune; March 2, 1998.
