Aug. 17, 1944-Oct. 4, 1998 SOUTH BEND Richard P. Szabo, 54, of Milwaukee, Wis., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, in the VA Hospital in Milwaukee. Mr. Szabo was employed as a nursing assistant. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was born on Aug. 27, 1944, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Peter and Clara Szabo, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Angie Szabo of South Bend; a son, Jerry R. Szabo of South Bend; his stepmother, Louise Szabo of South Bend; two grandchildren, Arianna Szabo and Aaron Orfansa; and by three stepbrothers, Ervin Wierzbinski of North Olmsted, Ohio, Ralph Wierzbinski of Denton, Texas, and Jerry Wierzbinski of Fort Wayne, Ind. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Friends may all one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
