SOUTH BEND - Irene Leokadya Dudek, 92, of South Bend died Friday, November 10th in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Irene was born September 18, 1925 in Detroit, MI to the late Eleanore (Bukowiecki) and Stanley Gladys and had lived in South Bend since 1955. On November 24, 1955 in Detroit, she married Stanley Dudek, who preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stanley A. Dudek; two brothers, Stanley and Edward Gladys; and two sons-in-law, Lawrence R. Chudzicki and Kenneth B. Parmelee. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Chudzicki, Laurie DeBroka, and Diane Dudek Parmelee, all of South Bend, and ex-son-in-law, Joseph DeBroka; six grandchildren, Julie Hinton (Kris), Kenneth Chudzicki (Stacie), Gregory Chudzicki, Jeffrey DeBroka (Melisa), Jennifer DeBroka (Robin Pixley), and Daniel Parmelee (Katie Gear); 10 great-grandchildren, Cameren Hinton (Leah), Kaylynn Pierce, Breanna Stephenson, Bryce Chudzicki, Hannah-Sarah Hinton, Kobe Chudzicki, Kassady Chudzicki, Savannah Hinton, Jackson Pixley, and Lyric Pixley; and three great-great-granddaughters, Kylah Moore, Gracelynn Hinton, and Evelynn Hinton. Irene was a devout Catholic who was a member of Christ the King Church. Her faith meant everything to her. She had the most beautiful blue eyes, a wonderful smile, and a heart of gold. She loved her family very much and always enjoyed spending time with them. She touched so many lives and her memory will live forever in our hearts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16th, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 15th in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 with a time for remembrances to follow. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Healthwin for their kindness and caring for our mother during the past two years. A special thank you to the West 1 nursing staff and certified nurse assistants who took such excellent care of our beautiful mother.
