SOUTH BEND - Mildred C. Brink, 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at 10:05 p.m. in Hospice House. Mildred was born on March 13, 1917, in South Bend to the late Anthony and Mary Ann (Winerowicz) Podemski. On June 20, 1940, she married Edward Brink in South Bend. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Sigmund Podemski; and a sister Pearl Skibinski. She is survived by two nieces, Shirley Ann Anthony of South Bend, Linda Kantorowski of South Bend; great-niece, Jennifer Hudak of South Bend; great-great-niece, Kaley Kubiak "Little One"; nephew, Richard Kuchowicz of KY; great-nephew, Scott Hudak of Elkhart; two sisters, Chesterine R. Kuchowicz and Henrietta Dankowski, both of South Bend; and many other nieces and nephews. Mildred was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and Forever Learning. She and her husband, Edward, owned Brink Printing for many years, she worked for the Navy in Mare Island, California during World War II. Mildred worked for Elkhart printing for two years and twenty years at Ave Maria Press. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church, 920 Wilbur St., South Bend, IN 46628. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. For those unable to attend the Funeral Liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
