Frank Edward Unruh, 71 years old, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 surrounded by his family at his residence in Mishawaka. He was born May 9, 1950 in Mishawaka, IN to the late William and Alene (Shoemaker) Unruh. On August 4, 1978, Frank married the love of his life, Linda Germann, who survives. Frank was a lifelong resident of Michiana and proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He worked for Mishawaka Utilities, serving for 42 years for the water division. Frank loved helping anyone and everyone he could. His motto in life was “If you need anything, give me a call” - and he meant that no matter the request or time of day. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts for many years and organized the local chapter of Water for People - helping reach the world with sustainable drinking water. He also traveled to many other communities to share his skills and help improve water systems. Frank truly embodied a caring and generous attitude. He loved camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and working on rebuilding vehicles. Frank and Linda also loved traveling the United States and Canada in their RV; having wonderful adventures and meeting many great friends along the way. Frank was an incredibly compassionate man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Along with his loving wife, Linda, Frank is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Love-Tillotson of Tacoma, WA; his son, Jeremy (Heather) Unruh of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Krista and Luke Henley; brothers, William and John; and his sisters, Sandy and Betty. Frank is also survived by many close friends. Along with his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his siblings, Jim, Herald, and Alice. Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St, Mishawaka, IN.
