Jean B. Pataluch passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at Thorek Hospital in Chicago. Jean was born Jan. 25, 1931 in La Porte to Joseph and Bernice (Nieduzak) Pataluch. Jean made Chicago her home for many years. Before her retirement, she had been employed by the Mariott Hotels in Chicago. Survivors include a brother, Joseph (Lola) Pataluch of Granger, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Thelma Pataluch and Irene Pataluch of La Porte and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her sisters, Josephine Wiencek and Michaelene Pentek, and her brothers, Stanley and Casimir Pataluch. A private family funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. CST at Essling Funeral Home, La Porte with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. There is no visitation. According to her wishes cremation will take place. Burial will take place in Pine Lake Cemetery. Essling Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be the donor's choice.
