SOUTH BEND - Michael J. Klosinski, 61, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2015, in his home. Michael was born on July 31, 1954, in South Bend, to Leonard and Shirley (Piasecki) Klosinski, and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed for the last eleven years as the Director of St. Michael's Laundry at the University of Notre Dame. On September 16, 1978, in South Bend, he married Kathleen A. Werwas, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Jacob (Emily) Klosinski and Josh (Lacie) Klosinski, both of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jason, Callen and Victoria Klosinski; his mother, Shirley A. Klosinski of South Bend; and his sister, Eva Marie (Ronald) Kocsis of South Bend. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Klosinski, on June 17, 1998. Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, in the funeral home. Michael was a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He had been a coach for the Washington High School and St. Joseph High School Hockey Teams. He had also coached football and wrestling for the ICCL. Michael was a member of the Association of Laundry Managers and received the prestigious Heywood Wiley Manager of the Year Award in 2006. Michael enjoyed boating, cooking, grilling, and family gatherings. He was known for his famous Prime Rib dinners. He enjoyed being a "Dziadzia" and loved spoiling his grandchildren. Veteran spent more than 30 years in industry

RICHMOND, Ky. - Laundry industry veteran Michael J. Klosinski, 61, died at his home in South Bend, Ind., on Aug. 9, reports the Association for Linen Management (ALM). ALM says Klosinski was involved in the laundry industry for more than 30 years. For the last 11 years, he was the laundry director of St. Michael’s Laundry at the University of Notre Dame. A member of ALM since 1983, Klosinski was awarded the Heywood Wiley Manager of the Year award in 2006.
Klosinski was a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He had been a coach for the Washington High School and St. Joseph High School hockey teams. He had also coached football and wrestling for the ICCL.
