An accident in Kewanna which claimed the life of Jennie Christine COHAGAN, 60, Rt. 3, Kewanna, is still under investigation today, according to Sheriff Robert NEWGENT. Mrs. Cohagan was pronounced dead in Woodlawn hospital by Coroner Junior D. GOOD at 3:15 a.m. Sunday - about an hour after Mrs. Cohagan fell from a moving pickup truck in the Kewanna VFW parking lot. Mrs. Cohagan was in a truck driven by Evelyn NICHOLSON of Kewanna and she fell out of the vehicle as it was backing from the parking lot. She suffered a lacerated aorta, ruptured spleen and numerous rib fractures. Mrs. Cohagan was born March 18, 1920 in Mishawaka to Alphonse and Julia MAES D'HOORE. She was married to Myron COHAGAN Sept. 17, 1938 in Mishawaka. She was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church. Surviving with the husband and parents are a daughter, Mrs. Betty HURLEY, Rt. 1, Kewanna; two sons, Maurice [COHAGAN], Rt. 3, Kewanna, and Myron [COHAGAN], Rt. 1, Kewanna; a sister, Mrs. Mary TALBOON, Largo, Fla.; a brother, Julian [D'HOORE], Mishawaka; and nine grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Anne's Catholic Church with Father Richard SMITH officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna. Friends may call at the Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna, after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
