SOUTH BEND - Geraldine F. Tajkowski, 96, passed away at 4:50 am on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the Milton Home. Geraldine was born September 16, 1917 in New York to the late Alex and Katharine Rowan. On November 15, 1947 Geraldine married Alfred Tajkowski. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Dodge and a brother, Norman Rowan. Survivors include children, Robert (Joan) Tajkowski of Osceola, & Marcia (Dennis) Frye of South Bend; granddaughters, Julie (Allen) Pelletier and Heather (Greg) Meller, and six great-grandchildren. Geraldine was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She loved her family and enjoyed her time with them. Geraldine was dearly loved and will be forever missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation for Geraldine will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Friday, January 24, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Funeral Liturgy will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
