South Bend - Sharlene “Sherry” J Mejer, 77, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in her home. Sherry was born January 15, 1941 in South Bend to the late Edward and Gazella (Nyikos) Stachowski. On April 29, 1961 Sherry married the love of her life, Louis Mejer, who preceded her in death on February 3, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Gace; brother, Tom Stachowski; and a grandson, Ryan Mejer. Survivors include her children, John (Ann) Mejer, Tammy (David) Semrinec, Ronald (Jessica) Mejer; sisters, Lorraine Luczyk and Rosie Beghan; grandchildren, Kayla (Jon) Yoder, Selina Mejer, Frances Semrinec, Emily Mejer, Bryce Mejer, Braxton Mejer, Nathan (Jen) Semrinec, Garrett (Lauren) Semrinec; and nine special great-grandchildren. Sherry worked for Swanks Cleaners and West Winds Tavern. She enjoyed going to the Casino and reading. Sherry loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, attending their sporting events or just watching them play. Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 6:30 pm Thursday, September 27, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd.
