John D. Kubsch, Jr., 55, residing on Eugene Street, South Bend, Ind., died early Friday morning, June 2, in Sidney, Nebraska, where he was driving his truck. He owned and operated his own truck and was employed with CFI Trucking, Joplin, Mo. He was born on February 3, 1945 in South Bend to John D. and Helen (Grabarz) Kubsch and had lived in South Bend all of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Kubsch, Sr. on November 13, 1980. On May 28, 1976 in South Bend he married Patsy Walter, who survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Michele (Joe) Rodriguez, Rebecca Kubsch, Dawn Serrano, and Jennifer Kubsch, all of South Bend; two step-sons, Shawn (Brigid) Klodzinski of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jason (Kristin) Klodzinski of Granger, Ind.; his mother, Helen Kubsch of South Bend; three sisters, Karen Laros of South Bend, Sharon (Ray) Leedy of Goshen, Ind. and Pamela (Don) McCarty of Niles, Mich.; and by two brothers, Larry (Beverly) Kubsch of South Bend and David (Sue) Kubsch of Granger. John was a member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church. Services for John Kubsch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev Ed. Fritz, pastor of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, in the Palmer Funeral Home.
