Joseph Benko Sr. 2015 Townsend Dr. died at 8:10 a.m. in his residence after a three month illness. Born in Hungary May 7, 1874, Benko, a retired farmer came to South Bend 50 years ago. Surviving are four sons Joseph, Alex, Emery, and Stephenand two daughters Mrs Susan Freshly and Mrs Mary Burkhart all of South Bend; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends can call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. published in the South Bend Tribune 5/28/1955
