SANDSTON, VA - Carol Rice, 71, of Sandston, VA & formerly of South Bend & Warsaw, IN, passed away Dec. 4, 2018. She was born June 7, 1947 to William & Harriet (Dzwilewski) Piatkowski. Survivors include mother, Harriet Piatkowski; sister, Barb (Jim) Ham of Westfield, IN; nieces, Lora (Richard) Williams of South Bend & Julie (David) Bowering of Cicero, IN; nephew, Jim (Jill) Ham of Ashburn, VA, great-nieces & nephews. Carol's son, Matthew J. Rice, passed away Dec. 28, 2018; he was the light of Carol's life. She was preceded by father, William Piatkowski, & sister, Mary Ann (Jim) Galvas.
