SOUTH BEND, IN - Heather M. Grontkowski, 43, passed away Dec. 30, 2018 at Hospice. She is survived by 2 daughters, Camryn Grontkowski (17) & Lia Grontkowski, (10); & granddaughter, Athena Dye (2). Heather fought a battle with breast cancer for 8 1/2 years. Her strength & support was encouraged by her caregivers, Tim Grontkowski, her daughters, and other family and friends. Heather enjoyed being a stay at home mother. She liked to antique & had a passion for making jewelry. A Celebration of Life is Feb. 2 at the Castle Manor @ Merrifield Park , 1pm-5pm. We are raising money for Heather Grontkowski's memorial services. Heather passed away 12-30-18 after a 8 1/2 year long battle with breast cancer at the young age of 43 . Heather was married to Tim Grontkowski for 16 years from 2000-20016, and a proud single mother of 2 daughters, Camryn (age 17) and Lia (age 10) as well as a grand daughter Athena (age 2). Over her 8 1/2 years battling cancer, she underwent 65 chemo infusions and over 15 surgeries under the care of her Oncologist Dr. Zon at Michiana Hematology. She fought in every way possible, even attempting last September thru November a new clinical trial at the IU Cancer Research Center in Indianapolis. Heather enjoyed being a stay at home mom and liked her crafts, beads, and antique collecting. Over the years she enjoyed dozens of Rock concerts including Buckcherry, Janes Addition, and Motley Crew to name a few of her favorites we saw multiple times. But mostly she enjoyed being with her 2 daughters and grand daughter spending time together. We are raising funds for a end of life arrangements, a Celebration of Life in the next few weeks, and any other funds will go into a Trust Fund for her 2 daughters.
