INDEX
[N10417]
Source 1910 Census
Both Michael and Valeria could read, write and speak English along with Polish and German. They owned thier home at 1634 Fassnacht. There is some doubt as to Michaels date of Emmigration. the 1910 census states 1901 with naturalization in the state of Pennslyvania while his obituary would indicate 1893/94 timeframe. this can be determined by sending for his naturalization papers from the Pa State Archives. Valeria Emmigrated in 1882 and her obituary confirms the date.
Oral history states that Michael came from Krakow in the Austrian Partition although the Census data states German Poland or Posen. Normal census data would have stated Aust Poland for the Galician Region. A further complicating factor is that Krakow was a Independent City State for a time with established relations with both Partition Powers. This will take a bit more research to determine.
