Barbara J. Torzewski, 69, of Cove Place in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend. Barbara was born on September 15, 1936, in South Bend to the late Harry Jacobs Sr. and Ethel S. (Brown) Jacobs of Mishawaka, Indiana. She had been employed with First Bank and Trust for 11 years. On February 22, 1968, Barbara married Jerome P. (Torchy) Torzewski, who survives. Also surviving is her mother, Ethel S. Jacobs of Mishawaka; her sons, Jerome (Rebecca) Torzewski II of Osceola, Indiana, Scott D. Torzewski of Mishawaka; her grandson, Zachary Jerome Torzewski; a sister, Beulah (Edward) Rosenbalm of Mishawaka; and a brother, Harry (Nancy) Jacobs Jr. of Mishawaka. A brother, Donald L. Jacobs Sr. preceded her in death. Barbara was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and the Polish National Alliance P.N.A. # 83. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday, November 18, 2005, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be at 5:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, November 19, 2005, at St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Indiana, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.
