Lloyd A. Weller Jr. July 3, 1928 - April 13, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Lloyd A. Weller Jr., 85, of South Bend, passed away at 5:58 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Lloyd was born on July 3, 1928, in South Bend, to Lloyd A. Weller Sr. and Ruby (Quier) Weller. On April 25, 1959, at St. Stanislaus Church in South Bend, he married the former Patricia A. Flowers, who survives. Mr. Weller formerly worked as a lab tech in the U.S. Navy. He also worked as a Chemist at Bendix Corporation for 5 years, O'Brien Paint for 25 years, and Reliance Corporation for 10 years. He attended Indiana University South Bend where he received his certificates for Chemistry. Lloyd is also survived by two daughters, Carol A. (Joseph) Wagner of Mishawaka and Susie (Rick) Duis of South Bend; two sons, Brian L. (Sandy) Weller of Elkhart and David L. Weller of South Bend; two sisters, Nola Weller of South Bend and Alicia Burris of Arizona; and one brother, Jack Weller of Evansville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Ricky Lee Duis, Nicole Gaylor, Angela Lalevee, Crystal Neyens, Jennifer Munoz, Nicole Hagen, and Steven Wagner, and eleven great-grandchildren: Samantha, Evan, Gabriel, Lukas, Caleb, Terra, London, Colton, Julian, Gavin, and Leah, all of whom he loved and cherished. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Francis Nettchow, Bonnie Jones and Ila Seamon. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Navy, as a lab technician, having served in WW II. He was proud to have served his country. He was also a member of VFW Post 360 in Mishawaka. His hobbies included walking, playing poker, sailing, and playing the organ. He was also an avid pet lover and loved going to garage sales from when they started in the spring until they ended in the fall to find things for his family members or any good deal that he could get for someone that he knew, for which he never expected to be re-paid. Just the joy of getting the gift in their eyes was all he needed. Lloyd was a loving and caring man who always helped others. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always doing things for his family. He cherished them dearly and always put them first. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church at a later date. Lloyd's wishes were to be cremated and his loving family has honored those wishes. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana located at 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Condolences may be expressed online through our website: www.hanleyandsonsfuneralhomes.com.
