SOUTH BEND - Ronald Marvin Lesher, 79 years old, peacefully passed away at 6:16 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home. Ron was born on August 10, 1938 in South Bend to the late Marvin and Minnie (Hochtel) Lesher. He has remained a lifelong resident. Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen K. Dreibelbis on April 27, 1975. On May 2, 1986 in South Bend, Ron and Mary J. (Nicks) Shreve were united in marriage. Along with his loving wife of 31 years, Mary, Ron is survived by his daughter, Jenny Lesher of Galesburg, Michigan; four sons, Joe (Julie) Lesher of Arizona, Lonnie Lesher of Mishawaka, Jeff (Lisa) Lesher of New Mexico, and John (Pam) Lesher of South Bend; four stepsons, Jeff (Lynda) Shreve of Elkhart, Tim Shreve of Cassopolis, MI, Larry (Kim) Shreve of Mishawaka, and Scott (Roxanne) Shreve of Walkerton. Ron is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron worked at Rieth-Riley Construction for several years as a mechanic. He was a member of the Teamsters Union 364 in South Bend. Ron was a 1957 graduate of John Adams High School. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family. A private graveside service will be held at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ronald M. Lesher may be donated to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Drive, Suite D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
