SOUTH BEND - Arthur A. "Sarge" Hazinski, 88, died peacefully on May 18, 2007. Sarge was a lifelong resident of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (in 1987) and his son, Thomas A. Hazinski, MD of Nashville (in 2006). Sarge was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a devoted Notre Dame fan. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jo Sheres and her husband, Rich, of San Diego; and grandchildren, Danny, Ian and Tracy Sheres; his daughter-in-law, Mary Fran Hazinski of Nashville; and grandson, Michael Hazinski; and his sister, Ruth Kopetski of Mishawaka. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007, in Saint Matthew Cathedral, South Bend. Memorials may be made to the Thomas A. Hazinski, MD memorial fund at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232.
