MISHAWAKA - Josephine “Jo” Wiesjahn was born at home on August 16, 1931, the youngest of four children of Eugenia (DeAmore) and Joseph Trimboli. She passed away peacefully September 6, 2017, at Creekside Village following her battle with brain cancer. Jo spent her life in Mishawaka, a graduate of Mishawaka High School, class of 49. She began her working career at Ball Band/Uniroyal. On June 21, 1955, as Josephine Trimboli, she married Robert “Bob” G. Wiesjahn at the First Church of God. The early years were spent as a homemaker, mastering her famous pasta, meatballs and sauce while raising their family of three. She continued her working career at Robertson's Department store and then as a Hall Monitor at Mishawaka High School for several years where she was most affectionately known as ‘The Troll.' She retired from Real Services Energy Assistance Program in 2014. She and Bob celebrated 44 years of marriage prior to his passing in June 6, 2000. They enjoyed travelling to family vacations, later to Las Vegas with family and friends, Cubs games, the Italian Festivals, and most of all Bloomington and Indiana University. Jo was a Charter member and officer of the Women's Auxiliary of the DiLoreto Club and active in the D'Amicis Club. She was a member of the Mishawaka High School Alumni Club and has been an active member of First United Methodist Church for most of her life. She enjoyed and cherished a large circle of friends, from childhood, her work, and her church. Preceding Jo in death were her parents, her brother, Samuel Trimboli, and sister, Elizabeth Trimboli, as well as sisters-in-law, Esther Trimboli, Lois Hensler and Betty Trimboli, brothers-in-law, Thereon Hensler and Frank Trimboli, and great-granddaughter, Victoria Calentine. Jo is survived by her brother, Dominic (Don) Trimboli, and sister-in-law, Patricia Sauerbeck, and her husband, Ted. She is also survived by three children: sons, Jim Wiesjahn and his wife, Anne, Bob Wiesjahn and his wife, Rhonda, and daughter, Jennifer Wiesjahn, all of Mishawaka. Three grandchildren brought her great joy, Matthew Calentine and his wife, Shell of Elkhart, Sarah Alwine and her husband, Jeff of Noblesville, and Nicholas Wiesjahn of Brownsburg. She dearly loved great-grandchildren, Miranda Calentine, Alexander Calentine, Odette Alwine, Alfred Alwine and Briar Alwine; along with step-great-grandchildren, Emmalyn and Dylan. Her boundless love extended to her 23 nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews, with whom she celebrated many gatherings and holidays, sharing memories and milestones, cherishing each and every one. Jo made friends easily and brightened any gathering she attended. She followed and shared the history of many generations Mishawaka families. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was a staunch fan of Indiana University athletics and a lifelong, loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, also closely following all of the athletic endeavors of her children and grandchildren. Wife, Mother, Nana, Aunt and friend, Jo will be forever held closely in our hearts and memories. The family wishes to thank Dr. Janet Galanes, Dr. Neal Patel, the staff at Creekside Village and the Center for Hospice Care for their compassionate care and support.
