W. Joy Banicki, 91, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday Sept. 27, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Niles, Michigan, to William and Roberta (Coons) Drew. She married Arthur "Art" Banicki, on March 5, 1960, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1973. Surviving are one son, Larry (Delina) Enders of Elkhart, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Badell, Melanie (Joey) Summers, Bret Enders, Blake (Lisa Richter) Enders; six great-grandchildren, Olivia Coulter, Katie (Ryan Rimmler) McCormick, Jillian (Scott) Brady, Jay (Bethany) Badell, Kaleb (Keira) Summers and Kara (Cody Simington) Summers. Also surviving are six great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Sue Norton of Loganville, Georgia, and a son-in-law, James Kujawski of New Carlisle, Indiana. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Nancy Kujawski, and two sisters, Kathy Balasa and Joann Mulkey. Joy retired as an accounts payable clerk for the Elkhart Community Schools. She was a former member of St. Thomas Church in Plymouth, Indiana, and a member of St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church in Bristol, Indiana. Funeral services for Joy will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 5, at St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, 601 E. Vistula St., Bristol, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the mass. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church.
