SOUTH BEND - James "Jimmy" M. Forkner, 47, passed away at 10:47 PM Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home.
Jimmy was born on August 2, 1966 in South Bend to Otis W. Forkner and the late Arlene K Hesler, and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. Jimmy was a 1986 graduate of Riley High School. He was a journeyman and member of the Local 75 International Association of Heat and Frost Insulator and Asbestos Workers.
On August 1, 2001 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Paula M. (Piechowicz) Forkner, who survives. He is also survived by his father, Otis W. Forkner of Eau Claire, MI; daughter, Chelsey Forkner of South Bend; sons, Zak Forkner and Nickolas Forkner, both of South Bend; step-daughter, Angel (Troy) Gann of South Bend; step-son, Randy (Jessica) Zawacki of South Bend; four grandchildren, Emory Forkner, Grace Zawacki, Koenn Rhett James Forkner and Benton Gann; two sisters, Nikole Forkner of Dowagiac, MI and Amy (Pete) Rayl of South Bend; three brothers, Steven (Marilyn) Forkner of Eau Claire, MI, Michael Forkner of South Bend and Gary (Leslie) Forkner of Osceola.Funeral services for Jimmy will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Palmer Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614 with burial following at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
