South Bend - David L. Dabros, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, March 28, 2021 with his wife by his side. David was born December 19, 1940 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Gladys (Burzynski) Dabros. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Szymanski and a brother, Michael Dabros. Left to cherish the memory of David is his wife of 19 years, Linda (Ramey) Dabros; step-children, Renae (Steve) Ruple, Robin (Barry) Caldwell, John Hercules, David Hercules, Anthony (Shelly) Carr; grandchildren Danielle Hercules, Christopher Grant, Kayla Grant, Brittany Grant, London Hercules; and 9 great-grandchildren. David proudly served his country in the United States Army, Airborne division. He worked for the South Bend Police Department for 5 years then retired from Weyerhauser Corporation after 24 years of employment. David was a member of American Legion Post 161 and the Holy Name Society. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame and the Bears. He also enjoyed gardening. David was a fun man and a jokester. He loved making sausage with his best friend, Neal. David and Linda enjoyed dancing on the weekends at the Ramada Inn or Matterhorn. A Graveside Military Service will be held at 2:30, Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Cemetery. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family.
