Nancy Bombich, 81, of Michigan City passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 4:20 p.m. at Franciscan Saint Anthony Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Queen of All Saints with Rev. Kevin Huber, officiating. Private family burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home and on Friday from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Queen of All Saints Church. A wake service will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home followed by a Women of the Moose Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. Nancy was born October 5, 1930 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to the late Harry F. and Catherine E. (Thelman) Marrietta. On February 5, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA she married James L. Bombich who passed away on October 8, 1999. Surviving are two sons: Edward Bombich of La Porte and Gary Bombich of South Bend; four daughters: Jacqueline (James) Watkins of Belding, MI; Susan Hannon of Michigan City; Linda Halverson of Allen, TX and Julie (Chuck) Hoscheit of Cary, IL; twelve grandchildren: Blake Bombich, Katie Bombich, Alex Hoscheit, Ben Hoscheit, Paige Hoscheit, Kyle Bombich, Anthony Bombich, Nicholas Halverson, Ron (Jamie) Smith, Meghan (David) Jackson, Caitlyn Hannon and Kelsey Hannon; two great-grandchildren: Sara Smith and Ryan Smith; and two sisters: Patricia Walker of Lima, Ohio and SaraLee Terese of Las Vegas, NV. Preceding her in death besides her husband Jim is one daughter: Sharon K. Russell. Nancy was retired from Dwyer Instruments as a scheduler and expiditer. She also worked for seven years as a cashier at Meijers.She was a member of Queen of All Saints Church and Women of the Moose Chapter #935 were she was a Senior Regent and inducted into the Academy of Friendship and College of Regents. She loved her family, friends, children and pets and was very generous and kind person who will be missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made to Michiana Humane Society or Baby Jackson's Journey c/o Brian Jackson.
