Donald R. Sroda III, 30 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He was born on January 6, 1991, in South Bend to Dana (Welch) Anderson and Donald Sroda II. Don was a lifelong resident of the area and worked for United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, he was attending Indiana University to earn a degree for ultrasound technician. Donald was always a happy young man, who loved spending time with his kids. He was an avid Florida State fan. Donald is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kayla Zima and their three Madison, Leah and Lucas. Don also leaves behind his mother, Dana (Joey) Anderson of Auburndale, FL., and father, Donald (Michelle Charles) Sroda II of Ligonier, along with brothers Brandon Sroda of Mishawaka and Richard Hart III of Florida. Donald will also be missed by his maternal grandmother, Donna McGaffick of Lakeland, FL and paternal grandmother, Maxine Sroda of Ligonier, nieces, Brielle Sroda, Aubree Hart and nephew, Carter Sroda. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Preston Sroda in 2016, maternal grandfather, James Welch and step-grandfather, Kenneth McGaffick, paternal grandfather, Donald Sroda Sr. Memorial services for Donald will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family via the Palmer Funeral Home website to assist the family in starting a college fund for his children or to NAMI St. Joseph County: National Alliance on Mental Illness, PO Box 4474, South Bend, IN 46634.
