SOUTH BEND - Delane Blacharski, 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Caring Junction, South Bend, IN. She was born on May 20, 1926, in Cash, AR, to the late John Calvin and Lou Francis (McKee) Balcom. On September 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Walter E. Blacharski, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2010. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Carolyn Sue Lupa; son, Dennis Wayne Blacharski; three sisters, Iva Ferrel, Pearl Peden and Dorothy Henley; and five brothers, James, Ray, Ben, Tom and Estes Balcom. Mrs. Blacharski is survived by daughter, Janice (Randy) Sipress of South Bend, IN; son, Dan (Charoenkwan "Be") Blacharski of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Shanti Blacharski, Michelle Smith, Eric Lupa, Nicholas McCurdie, Jamie Hudak and Lindsay McCurdie; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Erma Boling of Clawson, MI. Mrs. Blacharski moved to South Bend at the age of seventeen, coming from AR. She was a member of Northway Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Northway Church of Christ, 19525 Auten Road, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at church.
