Morris Wachowiak, 57, passed away peacefully in Memorial Hospital Thursday, December 22, 2022. Morris was born in South Bend on September 22, 1965. For over sixteen years Morris worked for South Bend Transpo. He loved the Chicago Bears and was introduced to racing by his grandfather, Casey Jones. Whether it be Indy Car, NASCAR, Dirt Car or Sprint Cars, Morris loved racing. After graduating from Riley High School, Morris entered the Navy. He got to travel the world for five years and returned home to his family and friends in South Bend. Morris leaves behind his mother Beverly Ann Wachowiak, Grandmother Sharon “Sherri” Jones, uncles: Don (Judy) Ruszkowski and Ray (Georgianne) Wachowiak, and the cousins he was raised with, Scott, Rick, Don and Dan (deceased) Ruszkowski. He is also survived by cousins: Batalis, Boembeke, Ham, Horvath, Koziatek, Ruszkowski, Vannoni, Wachowiak and Witham and other aunts, uncles and cousins.Morris was preceded in death by his step-father Benjamin Wachowiak, grandfather Morris “Casey” Jones, grandmother Rose Jones, and other family members. Private services have been held. Inurnment is in St. Joseph Cemetery, All Soul’s Columbarium. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.netMorris was a Multiple Life Saving Donor. His recipients have already benefited from his gifts of life. The family requests others to consider organ donation as well.
