Obituary: Alice A. Loy
Dec. 21, 1913 -- April 24, 2007

SOUTH BEND -- Alice Adele Loy, 93, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 24th, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on December 2l, 1913, in Berwyn, Illinois, and her parents were Chester H. Bragg and Elizabeth Bowden Bragg. On June 3, 1932, she married Amon L. Loy Sr. and spent most of her married life in South Bend . Alice was a homemaker for many years. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and a wonderful cook and baker. Thank you again Mom for all those special dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Amon L. Loy Sr., an infant daughter and an infant son. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Richard) Clauser and Barbara (Michael) Butler, both of South Bend; and three sons, Robert (Nancy) Loy of Granger, Martin (Jill) Loy of Coatesville, IN, and Amon (Susan) Loy Jr. of South Bend, IN. Additional family members include 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, there are two sisters, Elizabeth Barley of Brownville, IN, and Margaret Markham of Lynnfield, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and those who knew her. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Southern Care Hospice, 310 W. McKinley, Suite 340, Mishawaka, IN 46545. A special thank you to the Hospice caregivers who comforted her in her final days. Also, an extra special thank you to the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center staff for all the good care and many acts of kindness shown during her stay with you.
