Helen D. Janowski, age 90, passed away Christmas morning in her daughter’s home. Helen was a caregiver/babysitter for over 40 years for several families and children. She was born May 21, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas to the late G.W. and B. Marie (Schultes) Risner and has lived in this area all of her life. On February 7, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, she married Joseph L. Janowski who preceded in death on June 1, 2004. Survivors include, one daughter, Judy (John) Stabnik of Granger, one son, Joseph L. (Diane Botos) Janowski, Jr. of Edwardsburg, MI, two grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Stabnik and their children Madelyn, Ellie, Gavin and Joseph (Cassie) Stabnik and their children, Conor, Noah and Mason. One brother, Wade (Dorothy) Risner preceded in death on May 31, 2007.A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes will take care of the cremation services. Helen attended John Adams High School. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life.
