Dorothy Portolese

MISHAWAKA - Dorothy L. (Overpeck) Portolese of Mishawaka passed away peacefully on November 16th in her home surrounded by family. Dorothy was born on June 7, 1925 in Mishawaka to the late Aurilla and Homer Overpeck. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Pasquale Portolese and brother Robert Overpeck and brother-in-laws Mike and Bert Portolese and Don Schimizzi. Dorothy was blessed with 4 children Vicki Woodward, Thomas (Ellen) Portolese, Jayne (John) Kimmel, and Patrick (Doris) Portolese. The pride and joy of her life were her 7 grandchildren; Jennifer (Jim) Woodward-Nielander, Bryon (Donna) Woodward, Jacqueline (Matt) Denman, T.J. Portolese, Dustin (Rachel) Kimmel, Ashley (Erik) Portolese-Miller, Gina Portolese. Nine great-grandchildren; Derek, Bryan, Britton, Caysie, Jaxon, Zoe, Maxwell, Mason and Maverik. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Patsy and husband Pete Mammonlenti and sister-in-law Marge Overpeck. She is also survived by her in-laws, Mary Schimizzi, Ross (Mary) Portolese, Tony Portolese, Joe (Beth) Portolese, Rosalie (Mike) and Mary (Bert) Portolese and many nieces and nephews. Her family brought her the most joy and she never said a bad word about anyone. Pat and Dorothy loved to dance and enjoyed visiting their children in Las Vegas and California. She will be greatly missed for her wisdom, loving nature and her sense of humor. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 19th from 11:00am until 1:00pm in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Dorothy's life will be begin at 1:00pm with Fr. John Eze officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
