MISHAWAKA - Robert Louis Leets Sr., 81, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in the Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend. He was born October 6, 1927, in South Bend, the son of Louis and Helen (Andrysiak) Leets, and remained a lifelong resident. Mr. Leets retired as manager of Line Masters Answering Service following 10 years of employment, and formerly worked at Studebaker's and Wilson Brothers Shirt Factory. He is survived by two daughters, Marlene (Ronald) Krueger of Mishawaka and Eileen Warren of Racine, WI; and a son, Robert Louis (Sandy) Leets Jr. of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Annette Durbin of South Carolina, Michelle McNiel of Denver, CO, Christy Fruits of Cleveland, OH, Daniel Warren of Racine, WI, Tracy McCluskey of Chillicothe, OH, Thomas Wilson of South Bend, James and Anthony Krueger, both of South Bend. Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Wilford Leets of South Bend. Mr. Leets proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of New Beginnings Community Fellowship in South Bend. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19th, in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Wayne Brock will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
