SOUTH BEND - Regina L. Janes, 95, residing in South Bend, passed away at 12:45 am Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in Wellbrooke of South Bend. She was born August 31, 1919, in Cudahy, WI, to the late Paul and Frances (Skrobiszewski) Kucharek. Regina was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Janes, on April 25, 2006; all of her siblings, Christine Sawicki, Elizabeth Simms, Marie Schoederberg and Cyril, Frank and Paul Kucharek; and grandchildren, Rebecca Gilchrist and Peter Janes. Regina is survived by her daughter, Karen (Paul) Taylor of South Bend; son, James (Cynthia) Janes of Oshkosh, WI; grandchildren, Byron Taylor, Bradley (Jennie) Taylor, Pauline (Tim) Moore, Margaret (Mark) Tushar and Phillip (Megan) Janes; grandson-in-law, Jon Gilchrist; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Arthur, Benjamin & Isabelle Gilchrist, Abigail, Angela, Jackson, Ellen, Molly, Erin & Annie Moore, Maria, Michael & Melanie Tushar, and Benjamin Janes. Memorial services for Regina will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2015, in Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel at Holy Cross Village, 54515 Indiana 933, Notre Dame, IN 46556. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 6:30 - 8:00 pm today, January 8, 2015, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel at Holy Cross Village or Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
