OSCEOLA - Francis J. Tomasik (Frank), 74, of Osceola, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Frank was born November 27, 1943 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Helen (Radomska) Tomasik. He grew up in South Bend and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He also attended Tri-State University and IUSB. Frank was a corporate printer for School City of Mishawaka for 22 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and previously belonged to St. Pius X Catholic Church. Frank was an aviation enthusiast who enjoyed air shows, watching take offs and landings at the airport, and anything related to airplanes. His family was the center of his life. He also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and prided himself on maintaining a meticulous yard. Frank was a true craftsman who could fix or build most anything. An avid reader and a great writer, he also enjoyed fishing. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo (Housand), whom he married on June 11, 1966. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2016. Also surviving are four children: Tim (Paula Shreve) Tomasik, Andy (Wendi) Tomasik, Lisa (Brian) Scott, and Debra (Samantha Garcia) Aquino. He was also the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren: Benjamin, Jonathan, and Harrison Tomasik; Drew and Emma Tomasik; Hannah, Natalie, and Ethan Scott; and Gabriel and Josephine Aquino. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Burley, and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by a son, Eric Tomasik; a sister, Phyllis Bahder; and an infant brother, Bernard Tomasik. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Friday in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, with Fr. John Eze officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. Visitation is also from 9:30 to 10:30 am Friday in church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
