Shirley Crimaldi, 84, of Elkhart, died at 2:25 p.m. Fri., June 14, 2013 at Hospice House of Elkhart.Shirley was born July 16, 1928 in South Bend to Frank and Helen (Conway) Tierney. She married Michael J. Crimaldi, Sr. on Feb. 9, 1945 in South Bend. He died June 29, 1978. Surviving are a son, Mike Crimaldi, Jr. of Elkhart; daughters, Carol Ann Horton of South Bend, Sharon (Robert) Biro and Michelle Crimaldi both of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Kelly, Ava, Jason, Kenny Wayne; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Gaume of Moultrie, GA, Pammy Shelton of South Bend; and a brother, Johnny (Angie) Tierney of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jojo and three brothers, Gene, Jimmy and Billy.Shirley graduated from South Bend Central High School. She was a waitress at Casey's Restaurant, Elkhart for 37 years and worked at Crimaldi's Restaurant with her son Mike for 25 years.Shirley was an avid reader and was a wonderful and thoughtful woman who truly cared about everyone. Her love for her family was all-encompassing, and for those that knew her best they loved her contagious laugh. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
