Hilda (Slocum) Ridenour the Niles Daily Star on 14 Feb 1991 and it reads: “Funeral Services for Hilda Marie (Nekvasil) Ridenour, 65, 0f 2006 Ontario Rd., Lot 34, Niles, will be at 10a.m. Saturday at Hoven Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Johnson of First Missionary Baptist Church of Buchanan. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Ridenour died at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday at her home of natural causes. She was born April 14, 1925 in Buchanan. A homemaker, she had been a lifetime resident of the area. On Feb. 4, 1946 in Buchanan, she married James Nekvasil, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1965. On Aug. 10, 1968 in Buchanan she married Glen Ridenour, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, John Nekvasil and James Nekvasil, both of Niles, and Frank Nekvasil of Three Oaks; a daughter, Shirley Knight of Milwaukee, Wis.; three brothers, Kenard Slocum of Carlsbad, N. M., John Slocum of South Bend, Ind., and Ben Slocum of Niles; six sisters, Violet Hackeman of Niles, Virginia Hawkins of Gary, Ind., Hellen Hackeman of N.M., Laura Just of Buchanan, Clara Evans of Niles, and Jenny Hoover of Blytheville, Ark; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home, 610 Ship St., St. Joseph, MI 49085.”
