Josephine Sivak, 95, of Niles, MI, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2010 in West Woods of Niles. Josephine was born on February 9, 1915 in South Bend to Adam and Josephine Goraczewski. She retired as the owner of Jo's Lettering Service in South Bend. Her husband, Michael J. Sivak, preceded her in death on December 28, 1986. Survivors include her son, Michael (Marguerite) Sivak of Kappa, HI; three grandchildren, Kristi (Greg) Foster, Dawn (Matt) Frese, and Michael J. Sivak, III; and one great-granddaughter, Danielle Sivak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in St. Adalbert Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Josephine was a member of Z.B. Falcons.
