From the SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, January 26, 1972:

Peter P. (Skandis) Skaudis, 73, of 421 Lake St., died at 12;30 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He retired in 1964 from the Bendix Corp., where he had been employed 31 years. He was born on June 29, 1896 in Lithuania, and came here in 1912. On July 21, 1925, he married Lillian Hyduk, who survives, along with a son, Walter Skandis of Bronson, Mich., two daughters, Mrs. Roman Radecki, and Mrs. Richard Benninghoff, both of South Bend, and six grandchildren.
