NILES - Anthony E. "Tony" Sobieralski, 71, of Honeysuckle Lane and formerly of West Bertrand Road, Niles, MI, died at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, MI, following an extended illness. Mr. Sobieralski was born on December 2, 1939, in South Bend, IN, to Edward and Mary (Balon) Sobieralski. Anthony graduated from Saint Joseph Catholic High School, South bend and had lived in Niles most of his life. He retired from Total Industry, South Bend. Anthony was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in this area and up north, spending time with his family and racing cars. Mr. Sobieralski is survived by his sister, Theresa Leazenby of Niles; three nephews; two nieces, a grand niece; six grand nephews; one great-grand niece and one great-grand nephew. The family will gather privately for services. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. Contributions in memory of Anthony may be made to the Arthritis Foundation .
