Eddie John Kush, 90, of Hamilton Grove Communities New Carlisle, passed away Monday April 18, 2011 at 4:40 p.m. in Memorial Hospital. Eddie was born on September 24, 1920, in New Carlisle, IN, to the late Joseph and Daisy (Wroblewski) Kush. Eddie married Virginia (Bachman) on April 29, 1950 in South Bend, IN, who passed away in 1998. Eddie was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters and a special friend Elsie Fowler. Eddie is survived by one son Gary (Adele) Kush, of South Bend, IN, two granddaughters, Gwen (Stephen) Safriet, Charlotte Erhardt and two nieces, Mary Jane Liszewski and Judy Cepeda. Eddie served his country proudly in WWII with the United States Army as a Sergeant with the 159th infantry in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Eddie was a member of the American Legion New Carlisle Post 297 and enjoyed model trains. Eddie also liked to farm and garden.
Visitation will be on Thursday April 21, 2011 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. with a funeral liturgy to begin at 1p.m. in Queen of Peace Catholic Church 4508 Vistula Rd., Mishawaka, IN, 46544. Burial will follow at Mishawaka Fairview Cemetery 1415 N. Main St, Mishawaka, IN, 46545. Bubb Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
