Alexander "Butch" J. Tuholski, 69 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away Friday December 23, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 29, 1942 in LaPorte, IN, Son of the late Alexander S. and Margaret (Corbett) Tuholski. He was married to the love of his life Marsha Smith who survives. Also surviving are his children; Dean (Denice) Tuholski, Nan (Dan) Gurnicz, Kevin Tuholski, Lisa (Gary) Ledenbach, Christina (Mark) White, all of LaPorte, and Nathan (Jeana) Smith of Michigan City; 7 grandchildren: Katie Gurnicz, Colin & Casey Schroeder, Neal & Marc Tuholski, Ashley Clark, Courtney Tallman; Brother: James (Irene) Tuholski of Etna Green, IN; sister: Patricia (Richard) Southe of LaPorte; mother-in-law: Wanda Hostetler; sisters-in-law: Debra (Kevin) Smith, Connie (Wayne) Bellinger, Julie (Bryan) Fish, Vicki Gourley; nieces & nephews: Joel (Heather) Smith, Jim (Sarah) Fish, Jill (Jake) Nekvasil, Tony Snyder, Robert & Kyle Homan, Adam Gourley, Kara (Tony) Holly, James P. (Beth) Tuholski, Joseph W. (Astrid) Tuholski, Jennifer (Chad) Young, Tammi (Bart) Rollert; aunt: Betty Kramer and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Zachery Clark; nephew: Jeffery Tuholski, and great nephew: Jason Tuholski. Butch retired from Dankert Farms and he worked part time for Consolidated Resources Inc. until November of 2011.
Butch enjoyed wood working and building things for his family and friends. He loved being drug out to pick up garage sale items. He helped out friends and family whenever they had a question on how to fix or do something the "old farmer" way. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at a later time in West Lawn Cemetery in North Liberty, IN.
