SISTER LAKES - Ernestine Rose Spinazze, 95, of Dowagiac (Sister Lakes), passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, in Barrington, Illinois. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Road, Dowagiac, MI 49047, with Father Kevin Covert officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, from 10:00 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac, MI. Ernestine was born November 25, 1919, in Fiume Veneto, Italy, to Angelo and Tersilia (Camelot) Manzon. Ernestine moved to Windsor, Canada, where she met her spouse of 63 years, Angelo. They then moved to the United States, eventually settling in Sister Lakes in southwestern lower Michigan. She was an administrative assistant to the superintendent of Berrien County Schools for over 20 years. Ernestine was an accomplished seamstress, a member of the Lady Lions, longtime member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, an avid bridge player and gardener. Ernestine was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Spinazze, loving mother of Dr. Gerald (Bonnie) Spinazze, Dr. Dennis (Nancy) Spinazze and the late Lynne (Tom) Sims. She was grandmother of Angela Spinazze, Dr. Russell (Cheryl) Spinazze, Julie (Greg) Root, Lisa (Kevin) Ascher, Dr. Mark (Liza) Spinazze, Jaime (Kyle) Bennett, Annie (fianc‚ Peter Heigl) Spinazze, Todd and Tara Sims. She was also the proud great-grandmother of 13. Preceding her in death were her husband, Angelo, her daughter, Lynne, her brother, Oscar, and her sister, Mary Manzon.
