SOUTH BEND - Richard J. Kazmierzak, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in the Saint Joseph Medical Center. Richard was born on August 13, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Harriet (Panicki) Kazmierzak. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Logan. He is survived by his brother, Clifford (Joan) Kazmierzak of South Bend; niece, Doreen Arena of New York; and by his nephew, Barry Logan of FL. Richard was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the American Legion. He served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
