Virginia G. Murauskas, 74, of Niles, passed away unexpectedly, of natural causes on Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1946 in Germany, a Lithuanian refugee, to the late Alfonas and Eulalia (Valys) Murauskas. She wed Joseph Urbonas and two that union was born three children, Kristin, Christopher and Nicholas. Virginia had a passion for art and studied for a time at the Chicago Art Institute and gifted in both painting and sculpturing. Virginia enjoyed swimming, her girl’s nights and was an avid reader. She also looked forward to trying new foods, becoming a “foodie” but could not find anything that compared to an Italian beef sandwich. Virginia also was an artist in her craft of being a sales representative, still employed by Amish Built Barns. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Nicholas Urbonas; siblings, Isabelle Zemgulis, Robert and Edward Murauskas. Virginia is survived by her children, Kristin (George) Watson of Dawson, Alabama and Christopher Urbonas (Carie Eisenhammer) of Chicago; two grandchildren, Alisa and Alton Watson and her brother, Victor (Karen) Murauskas of Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation www.arthritis.org or the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
