BUCHANAN - Robert B. Blumka Jr., age 54, of Buchanan, died suddenly Tuesday, September 29, 2015, in his home. He was born June 26, 1961, in Chicago, IL, to Robert B Sr. and Barbara Mertes Blumka. He is survived by his mother, Barbara M. Blumka of Kalamazoo, MI; aunt, Barbara J. Blumka of Buchanan, MI; Daughters, Keri (Allen) Schrimsher and Le Anna Blumka, both of Buchanan; a Stepdaughter, Tara (Andrew) Peters of Baroda, Michigan; Sons, Joseph (Mary) Blumka of Clarkston, Michigan, and Michael Blumka of Buchanan; Sisters, Margaret (Reg) Alexander Indianapolis, Indiana, Brenda (John) Bultema - Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mary (Dan) Ward of Buchanan and Christine (Randy) Begeman of Portage, MI; Brothers, William (Judy) Blumka, Niles, MI, Bernard (Ben) Blumka Kalamazoo, MI; and one grandchild. On May 16, 2009, in Bridgeman, Michigan, he married Nikki Turner Blumka, who survives. Robert was preceded in death by his Father, Robert B. Blumka Sr., and a brother, Paul Blumka. Robert was employed as a machinist for Delta Machine in Niles, and his hobbies included farming and camping. A service celebrating his life will be Saturday, October 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan, Father Richard Altine of Saint Anthony Catholic Church officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date. A time to visit with the family will be Friday, October 2nd, from 4-8 p.m., also at Swem Chapel in Buchanan.
