Dec. 1, 1943 - Sept. 19, 2011 SOUTH BEND - Ronald Stanley Lewandowski, 67, of South Bend, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011, in his home. He was born December 1, 1943, in South Bend, to Stanley and Agnes (Kaniewski) Lewandowski. He moved to Wolcottville, IN, where he had lived for 40 years. On June 25, 1977, he married Bonnie Gibson-Lewandowski. Ronald is survived by his former wife, Bonnie (with whom he raised her four children); his mother, Agnes Hibshman of LaGrange, IN; three stepdaughters, Tina Christenson, Jacalyn (Carl) Calhoun and Holly Conley, all of Wolcottville, IN; his stepson, Michael (Debra) Trapp of Elkhart, IN; nine step-grandchildren, John Metz, Shannon McDowell, Zachary Trapp, Tabitha Roskam, Travis Neal, Regan Calhoun, Casey Calhoun, Grant Conley and Abigail Conley; 10 great-step-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson; a niece, Diane West of Battlecreek, MI; and a nephew, Bruce West of Nottowa, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley, and his sister, Diane Dennis. Mr. Lewandowski worked in security for Securitas. He was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of American Legion Post #308 in Osceola, IN. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, September 23, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Cremation will follow.
