ELKHART - Concetta M. Siciliano, 86, of Elkhart, died at 4:27 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in her home. She was born March 1, 1925, in Gerace Reggio Calabria, Italy, to Giuseppe and Teresa (Milieri) Cataldo. She married Vincenzo Siciliano on Nov. 9, 1944, in Gerace, Italy. He died on Jan. 5, 1980. Surviving are her children, Rosa (Vincenzo) Staltari of Elkhart, Domenico (Emilia) Siciliano of Goshen, Giuseppe "Joe" (Rosa) Siciliano, Maria (Agostino) Lacopo, and Angelina (Antonio) Panetta, all of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruno (Rosa) Cataldo of South Bend, Paolo Cataldo of Gerace, Italy; sisters, Anna (Domenico) Lizzi of Bologna, Italy, and Maria (Antonio) Lizzi of Elkhart. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Maria Cataldo of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio Cataldo, and a sister-in-law, Santa Cataldo. Concetta worked at Colombo's Restaurant for 25 years as a cook, was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church and loved to crochet, garden and cook. She always put others needs ahead of her own. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday and 10-10:30 am Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. A procession will leave at 10:40 am Thursday for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent dePaul Church at 11 am. Father Glenn Kohrman will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Rice Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church, or to Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
